PUBLIC SERVICE WITH A RECORD BEHIND IT
Scott's public-service record includes municipal budgets, fiscal oversight, transportation, public safety, parks, conservation, education and state-government administration.

BUDGETS & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Scott worked directly on municipal budgets throughout his four years on the Apex Town Council. He always prioritized responsible spending and taxes and fees that were as low as possible.
In January 2015, Mayor Bill Sutton assigned Scott to lead the Council working group reviewing General Fund finances. Later that year, Scott made the motion to adopt the Town's budget ordinance as presented; the motion carried 4–1.
Scott will oppose any effort to raise taxes in Cary. He believes there are too many opportunities for greater efficiency to explore.
